When a mother realizes she is alone
Celina is one of those women who get up early, who think of everyone before themselves. For decades, her daughter Claudia was the center of her life. Financial sacrifices, unwavering support, total access to her bank account… She called it love.
It all started with simple shortness of breath. Nothing alarming at first. But as the weeks went by, climbing stairs became a challenge. Until that night when Celina woke up with a feeling of pressure in her chest, unable to breathe normally.
She calls Claudia. The answer comes, cold: "Now, Mom?"
Claudia arrives, her face expressionless. At the hospital, the doctors announce an urgent operation. Celina looks into her daughter's eyes for comfort. She sees only a phone screen.
